National Energy Foundation (NEF)The c-change trust has developed a carbon work out tool with the NEF that helps individuals measure their carbon footprint whilst encouraging the user to make various pledges to reduce their own emissions.
The calculator was voted the best carbon tool by the Sunday Observer.
The National Energy Foundation offer practical advice and help in installing energy saving measures and implementing appropriate renewable energy sources.
Energy efficiency
The c-change trust have teamed up with the company Sustain who have developed Smart Heat - a programme designed to upgrade boiler rooms with supplementary insulation. This service offers an immediate saving in wasted energy, energy costs and a rapid payback.
We have funded a Smart Heat project for Northallerton College in Yorkshire. The work required the insulation of all pipe work. The estimated CO2 savings over 20 years is 823 tonnes.
Hemp
To usefully 'sequester' your carbon we want to grow Hemp. For 1000's of years hemp was a staple crop of the UK and vital to small scale agriculture.
We are working with our partners at Hemp Global Solutions to promote hemp growing in the UK for carbon capture and construction.
Hemp products are truly sustainable and the current high prices for Hemp make it very attractive for farmers to grow in the UK.
